I’m a spiritual person, really. As far as I know spiritually, people can have souls of things with intelligence.
So no, you are not a wolf, a fox etc. You are not a dragon.
Could you be fae ? Yeah sure. Will I believe you if you act like the fae presented to four year old girls ? Lol no.

You might want to learn a bit more about traditional religions and spirituality. Especially the concepts of reincarnation and metempsychosis or transmigration.

Traditional Hindu and Buddhist concepts of reincarnation very much allow for the reincarnation of animals into human bodies, and vice versa. That’s kind of the point. Evolution of the soul from lesser forms to greater… plant to animal to human, etc.

Likewise, the Greek concept of metempsychosis or transmigration explicitly allowed for human souls to pass into animals and animal souls to pass into humans. Plato’s Republic specifically contains an account of someone who died and came back to life with a story of how he saw souls returning from heaven and choosing new lives for themselves - human and animal.

I’ll answer this question this way because I have a lot to say.

Well truth is, I don’t know a lot about otherkin/therianthropy either. I’m still figuring it all out myself.

Did I always feel like I was different? Yes of course. From the get go. I knew I was different, I’ve always connected more with animals than I do with people. I’ve also felt something I can only explain as “non-human” within me. Like part of me is an animal. I’ve always bonded well with cats and understood their nature and ways so I feel more feline than anything.

Did it happen at a certain age? Not really to speak of, I just became more aware of it as I got older. I connected with the furry fandom in recent years, I made my first fursona when I was 11 but didn’t realize it, and still keep her today. But it wasn’t until the past 2 years that I found out about otherkin and therianthropy. I had heard about it before but never delve deeper. I made a friend where I used to live who came out to me as fae kin and it struck my interest. Like discovering the furry fandom, other people who loved anthropomorphic animals, I dove into otherkin realm to find out if that’s what I was feeling for all these years.

Can someone become therian? I would have to say no. You either are, or you aren’t. But that’s just what I think. To me being thierian means a few things. You feel your soul is a different shape than the vessel it occupies. Sometimes you can feel that different soul “come out.” Phantom limbs/tails/ears/wings/etc. Also therians have the tenancy to mentally shift. I shift quite often, sometimes without noticing I shifted. Then people look at me strangely because growling and hissing is frowned upon in the society we live in. No one is allowed to be different. We all have to fit in these little social boxes.

So I’ve had some time to explore my kintype some more. I’m thinking I’m a medium...

So I’ve had some time to explore my kintype some more. I’m thinking I’m a medium to large cat, I don’t know if my tail is really big and fluffy or non existent, but I know I have huge ears. I can feel them sometimes. I am thinking my fur is a strange color like strawberry or maltese-like. I don’t know what the coat pattern looks like though, but I have a feeling it’s spotted or solid. Still exploring what my animal soul looks like.

Yeah it’s dumb what we have to put up with isn’t it? People are mean and afraid of what they don’t understand. Therianthropy is one of those things. I’m struggling to find out my kintype and kind of scared every time I post something on my kin blog. But the nice people you find are indeed worth it. Hang in there!

I took a break, mostly because of the move and stuff, I had no time to figure myself out. Also I needed a break from the shit that got thrown at me because I don’t know who I am and I’m still trying to figure that out.

I’m different, so what? You don’t like it, you don’t have to look. I’m not forcing it down your throat.

So, today on 12-12-12 I got my first tattoo. I’ve been obsessed with body modification for years, and finally realized that it was linked to the body dysphoria I felt as a therian. Now, I have a beautiful piece to bring my body just that much closer to perfect. I’m a fox kin, and I kept having little baby mental shifts while getting the tattoo done. The strange thing? I’ve been mental shifting like mad since it was finished earlier in the afternoon. I’m not sure if it’s because my brain is pumping out a bunch of stuff to heal my wound and numb the pain, if I’ve got a ton of adrenaline going on, or if this physical manifestation had a spiritual impact (any thoughts?) But I do know that I love this feeling and I couldn’t be happier.

Edit: Oh, guess you can stalk me now. Oh well. I guess if you’re a therian in Baltimore hit me up. Also yep, that thing on my ankle is a dew claw :)
